The Literature concentration requires these 41 hours:
 
English 201 (3), 202 (3), and either 203 or 204 (3), 301 (3), 402 (3), 491 (3)

In addition, students must take the specified number of hours in each of the following literary periods:
 
A. British Literature through the Eighteenth Century (6 hours):
English 300 (3), 304 (3), 305 (3), 306 (3), 443 (3)

B. British Literature since the Eighteenth Century (6 hours):
English 307 (3), 308 (3), 309 (3), 324 (3)

C. American Literature (6 hours):
English 321 (3), 322 (3), 323 (3)

Additional hours in English at the 300-level or above 6 hours (may also include Communication 315 and/or 341)
