Description="This is a page from a booklet, titled Mr.
and Mrs. Crosby Adams; Musicians of Note, in which Mrs. Adams Dolls Musical
Festivals are described. Mrs. Adams, a noted musician and piano teacher, began
the Dolls Musical Festivals in 1908 while she was living in Chicago. Her young
piano students were invited to bring their favorite doll to a recital consisting
entirely of music written about dolls. A few years later the children were asked
to bring a "going-away doll" and at the end of the program, those
dolls were packed and sent to less fortunate children. This tradition continued
annually until ca.1950 and was adopted by music teachers as a new approach to
teaching beginners. (8 1/2" x 5 1/2")"
