Digging Deeper Assignments

1. Take 15 minutes and brainstorm a list of advertising possibilities for your campus. What would entice students to use Writing Center services?

2. Write a five-minute speech for use in a class visit to introduce the Writing Center and its services.

3. Design a logo for your Writing Center, either freehand or using a computer.

4. Take 15 minutes and brainstorm a list of advertising slogans for your Writing Center.

5. Explore other Writing Center web pages; a good starting point is the National Writing Centers Association, which provides an extensive list of Writing Center pages. Write a brief critique of five Writing Center pages in your journal; be sure to include strengths and weaknesses as well as possible applications for your own Writing Center web page.
