3The Clueless Student

Brainstorming / Listing

Another way to generate ideas is listing. If a student has, for example, the general topic of “the most influential person in my life,” you can help the student begin by creating a list of people, events, places, experiences, and whatever else may come to mind.

From such a list, a student can then create additional lists that limit the focus even more. What about Coach MacVee makes him an influential character?
